Latina Leadership Initiative of Greater Des Moines (LLI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and uplifting Latina women by building bridges, enhancing professional advancement, and cultivating personal growth through a one-of-a-kind leadership program tailored specifically for Latinas. This year, LLI is proud to introduce HERBIZ, Helping Entrepreneurs Rise, Building Innovative Zeal, a distinct and new 40-hour workshop designed specifically to elevate Latina entrepreneurs to new heights of success. This new workshop marks a pivotal expansion from the “EmpowerHer: Entrepreneurship” sessions that are a part of LLI’s original leadership program, amplifying our commitment to empowering Latina entrepreneurs for long-lasting success. Through HERBIZ, we not only equip entrepreneurs with essential skills but also sow the seeds for sustainable economic empowerment and social advancement, ensuring a thriving community for all. In this workshop, participants will engage in a 40-hour intensive curriculum alongside LLI alumni, current participants, and other ambitious women in the community who have recently started their business. The cost of tuition for the HERBIZ workshop is $500. Participants who successfully complete the program may be eligible to receive a refund of their tuition fee. * Additionally, graduates who meet eligibility criteria may apply for a $1,500 grant to support the implementation of their business plans developed during the program. ** Once admitted into the program, a non-refundable registration fee of $25 is due with the tuition. Participants have the option to pay the full amount at once or pay in five installments before March 2025. Financial aid is available to participants who demonstrate financial need by completing and submitting the financial aid application form.
