Rocio 2Rocio Hermosillo, LLI Class of 2014 ran for Des Moines Public School Board. She recently completed Ready to Run, as sponsored through LLI via a gift from the Hispanic Political Action Committee.

We’re excited to see our alumni moving towards positive change for all in our community!

 

IMG_1369Vanessa Marcano Kelly, Class of 2014, received the Leadership Award from LULAC for her work as a community organizer with Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement, where she advocated on behalf of the Latino community for issues that include wage theft, immigration reform, voter’s rights, driver’s licenses and raising the minimum wage.
